Seems i missed off the blow by blow on the binnacle rebuild.
Above is the glass removed, the rubber sealing ring is likely to have disintegrated and i just replaced it with a bead of instant gasket (made my own O ring)
The original outer was covered in rust and crust, so it was cleaned off and given a couple of coats of zinc primer, the zinc primer and then a coat of satin lacquer was closest I could get to the original coating
And the assembly broken down, the inside of the cluster frame is actually white, so i used some "appliance white" enamel as can be seen above on inside
It really is extremely to assemble again
And back in the binnacle
WORD OF WARNING
The pillars for the stand offs for the cluster are DIFFERENT sizes on Mk 1 / 2 and front/back DO NOT MIX THEM UP or this is what you get when bolting the cluster in
The actual exterior binnacle were all blocked off, treated with zinc under layer (weld through primer is fine) then a coat of high build etch primer
Blocked off agaian and doing almost wet on wet, 2 coats satin black, coat of satin lacquer, apply decals and apply final coat of satin lacquer to seal over top of decals, not had any come off yet even in the blistering heat
