I wasn't particularly looking forward to wiring up indicator switch and pawl unit , not being an electrician l could see all sorts of dragons involved, l have converted Petulas dash to a Stiletto unit ,on following wiring diagram as near as l could (l am doing my own loom as l build)
The indicator switch was locking on when indicating left ,and use of the pawl switch turned indicators off, when indicating right the switch wouldn't lock in ON position.
By my way of thinking if one side of switch was ok but other side wasn't , by a process of elimination by changing the left & right leads (green with red stripe & green with white stripe) over on the pawl unit, if right side then locks it shows pawl unit is faulty and not the switch. Which WAS the case.
So it was a case of completely stripping pawl of all it's leads ,there are only three (left\right indicator wires & power lead)
Clean up everything and resolder wires to unit after cutting off 5 mm of old corroded wires. I marked the fibre plate R & W to show where coloured wires fitted , get them wrong and switch won't work correctly
My soldering isn't the best job but unit works fine now . The brass plate is spring loaded and it pivots around inside switch (spring loaded ) and contacts on the three copper plates forming the electrical connectivity of switch.
Jobs a good un!
As Mr Spencer used to say "best l can do for now"
