  • Reuse of old sender to house 1/8 modern one

Loads of folkd debating imp temp guages accuracy and what senders should be used.

Truth is there are bucket loads for sneders out there but not all in old sizes

So here I have took an old sender, cut off either end, drilled and tapped it for 1/8 thread (or can take 10mm metric) and use the old sender as the basisi for a reducer rather than finding one and waiting for it. We should all have a few old ones with the terminal lug loose right ??

Easy enough job, some folks have asked me before why I taper and shorten the ends, answer is simple, I want the sender end in the fluid so it measures actual coolant rather than the temp of the block its threaded into, thats a fine line on an imp as a true temp sender would be on the hose rather than the block which is why a lot of people prefer capiliary guages

Quick and a bit rough and ready however, deed is done. Need to drill the main oil gallery blank plug tomorrow, add oil pressure sender and thats 930 ready to get in
