Just rebuilding my rear brakes, does anyone have an exploded diagram showing the spring retaining clips behind the slave cylinder? I can’t find one in the workshop manual.
also where is the grease that comes with the cylinders for?
The grease is also to prevent the outer section of the cylinder and piston from corroding and jamming as forward of the seal its all exposed steel, just needs a smear
Same on the pivit points in the adjusters and slots for the shoes.
Are there different backing plates for different years? My original ones have an extra collar. the new powder coated ones from graham Anderson don’t have it. Picture for comparison.
You can fit either to an early car as the early hub has the material removed.
You cant fit an early one to a later car or it can foul on the hub.
Either will hold the bearing in fine.
Hub wise the resting stops for the shoes and the area where the cylinder slides are the most improtant bits as a jamming handbrake lever or cylinder is a right pain.
