  • Decamber Washer Mod - In Colour

Period Decamber Mods - Material removed from bottom face of stub axle and washer added to the top

About 1/8th removed off bottom where the vertical drop bolt for the stub axle assembly is fitted through I think was instruction

The stub axle can then pivot on the horizontal bolt

Then to make up the gaps inside the wishbone a machined washer was used as a gap filler to prevent the wishbone being crushed when rumped up.

The lip is only there to stop it slipping off when attached to the bone

    In summary

Good point Bob. If there was a taper I did not notice.

One from some literature showing the original Rootes part number from the washer and the other Peters own work keeping note of dimensions

Two images courtesy of Peter nunney, cheers Peter

Any likes being pressed should head in peters direction for these two

Also can be done in reverse if you have lowered the car so much you have excessive negative camber either for looks or a race/tarmac rally car.

Mike, great point. The ability to lift would be limited though ? as the boss head does not have as much material to remove as bottom. Any pics from your setups. not sure there are many people left that have experimeted in these areas like yourself. moose549

I have a race car coming in soon and will be looking to lower it so may have to do this mod and will take pics for you. I am struggling to put a pic in the post at a decent size i can link to my google albums and i think that works. Will keep playing and learning with the pics. I am keeping google albums for cars i work on so links to them if the owner is happy may be the best way to go as i intend to include info below or above the pics to show the build and explain what has been done and why like my build thread on the forum for my rally car but obviously without all the other peoples comments

Mike if you make any posts here with examples and start the thread you can "Close" your own threads to replies, visitors can like it to show some appreciation but not reply.

I think google turns off links and replies ?

If you get time after peeling off all the horrors on that blue car you are doing and want to look at that just give me a message or just phone.

More than happy to try it out as you would like it and see if it works as it is suppossed to or i will go find out why.

no problem with people commenting on here or on imp forum about my builds/posts i am fairly sure i have google albums as share but no comments so that does not become another question and answer type forum for me.
