  • Had a bit of trouble with the o ring in the end cover as I pushed the end cover over the shaft the cut out for the bolt cut the inner o ring , checked for burrs and smother it of but did it again put some tape round but could not get it through just shredded the tape and cut the o ring
Thinking on the lines of bit shrink wrap just on the end .
No more o rings so just been for more
They are a British standard BS 014 can get them any bearing suppliers I go local always good prices Click image for larger version

        • Taken the back cover off to get to the o ring
the Hylomar blue is really good but it doesn't come off without solvent
After 3more goes noticed the o ring was not central in the bore ,so put another cover on ,went straight on
On close inspection the groove was not machined in line with the bore , looks like the tools picked up too Click image for larger version

note the pointed teeth that locate in the synchro hub have not been spinning at the correct speed due to worn bulk rings and have crashed and damaged the gear Click image for larger version

                          • Hard to see on the pic above but they are worn on one side and the bulk ring has no gap on the face of the gear

                            • This bulk ring is in good condition note the rings inside like a screw thread these cut through the oil when they engage the gear to start it spinning at the correct speed to change gear if the screw thread is flat topped that's wear and thus reduces the clearance gap on the face of the taper on the gear this causes it to moves closer to the teeth before getting up to speed and crashes the gear Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20210428_134455206_BURST000_COVER_TOP~2.jpg Views:	0 Size:	333.6 KB ID:	15528

                              • If it crashed the gear get it seen to or you may need a new gear not just a bulk ring
