Feels good to be on the out side bodywork .
I did at one point consider not stripping the doors to bare metal as they looked quite good profile but in the end up I just couldn't leave them it would have made the paint too thick and I'm glad I did or a few you couple of dents and repair that we're going rusty underneath couldn't wait for the paint stripper so I decided to do it all school with a heat gunner . Can anybody see the strange diagonal line down the door it's under the paint and it looks like it's a kink in the panel but its not it's just perfectly smooth it's very weird

Get the rust now amazing what 50 year old paint can hide

More work on the doors ,will it ever end swage profile on non original door is different to wing .
I'll just have to tap the end to suit so it's still the same thickness and then fill to suit ,this door has caused so many problems should have just welded it shut

So are the stiletto doors actually different on the swage line ?

There seems to be more curve to the new door too maybe they updated the tooling it some stage I don't know how many years apart the doors are .
it could have got damaged and they blended it out ,I've done that myself to form tools .

Get it straight as, light skim and block through will take eye off it

First coat of epoxy on, went all round the seams first with a brush a few little bits to fill next

Other side done took some time but happy I completely striped it just one more glad it's not a 4door

Top job gary, shame the paint booth malfunctioned past couple fo days I was hoping to get a bit more done myself,

BUT, I did get the last of the welding done at back of van (under wan was dry and thats it all done, bumpers back on, spare wheel.

Starts to come together very quickly towards the end .

Stilletto will be done in no time now

Iam putting as much time as possible at moment taking engine to Andy Jones tomorrow for rebore and head work

Finally door gaping and profile getting there . Had to build the edge up as you suggested worked well didn't need anywhere near as much as I thought.

Nice. you must be well pleased, you decided paint with doors on or doors off paint ?

Not sure yet I am finding fitting the doors much easier, practice makes perfect
