Dan, I reckon the switch is fine, but with the flexi coupling appearing to fail it has likely let me move beyond where it was and bent the lever, this would have destroyed the factory push switch.
Will see when I get car back in the air to change the coupling.
Was working so well ! but with gear change now gone to crap, needs fixed.

Well pawl unit overhauled.
SEE PAWL UNIT POST HERE
So I decided to add the pawl unit and indicator controls to a 6 way connector as the wire group of pawl plus indicators just fitted a 6 way so well.
Hopefully the other connectors turn up tomorrow and i can get the binnacle finally done.
And the Hazard light controls also now all in, everything working great including the pawl unit
So far so good !

Why is it you click on the picture to open it in another page enlarged and it opens it ok but not enlarged ?
Alright on top picture but those last two stay the same , and it's surprising what a difference the enlarged version makes
Nice TIDY job though John .

Wiring finally tidy up and ready to connect
Binnacle hung and fitted
Just need to make sure nothing is "on" that should not be with ignition switch off
So far only failure has been the main beam warning lamp, seems not to be working. No idea why, as it is LED indicator I used finer wires than normal so will need to get a better look tomorrow.
Small casualty though, the foam I used to rest the binnacle on seemed to melt itself onto the lacquer I used on the indicator stalks but as i can remove the binnacle anytime now with ease, will leave that as a later fix.
Second casualy was the NOS lucas wiper switch i bought, gave up at second use, spring inside feels like it went for a walk so had to change that up
Will get back on case tomorrow and if i can find my other oil cooler bracket might even be able to cold crank it and get some pressure up

Well it creeps one step closer now.
Oh, fixed the lamp issue, FAULTY LED lamp so crushed out the LED and just used the the screw in body, fitted my own led
Tested the oil pressure sender (electric) temp sender and fuel sender, all good.
Added a few of the last bits in,
And now one last thing on the engine block, the oil cooler exit elbows, the crush washers were toast on these and you apparantly cant get new ones.
So added an O ring, slightly oversize dowty (o ring sits tight inside dowty and added some thread sealer so hopefully thats that sorted.
Clean out the cannister, prime filter with oil and mount the cooler and thats the engine ready to dry crank !/ John
