OK, I'll own up.
Closed garage door with light off, could not see and with stuff on floor did not want to move to get close to light switch.
Lent in window of of Mildred to turn interior light on, did not work, moved very slowly in dark till I eventually found my way to door.
So I checked the interior bulb and it was a weird PCB type thing with strange things on it so I tried to change for a bulb but only one I had only had one end on it.
Should have went to Halfords and got 2 for £2 but I thought my magic would have fixed it and saved me £2.Patrick McGrorty

There was no power as the battery was off.
That's not the point but I was trying to fix it.
Would have been some achievement getting my newly constructed bulb to light with no power, could have been onto a winner.Patrick McGrorty

Shiny Friday
Sun was out, joiners doing a great job of replacing all the soffets and stuff and finding a roof leak but better now than later
So cleaned up the gutter trim, carefully clenched the sides together for a tight fit and back on. I hate thos trims ....
And as i could not stop myself with shiny parts
Decided to refit the original number plate surround even as its a sports style lid. Just in case style wise it goes back to rectangular and mesh which is how it was in the beginning
And the luggage strips

They were whole day yesterday just doing the top two windows, back of house is done, one side of garage done, amazing how long it takes them just to build the scaffold up just to start work. Big section is next week. Should have done it years ago when the fella that used to paint them retired. He had a great gig, was already retired from Police and every summer just went round houses in the estate painting outsides. No rush, did great job.
The gutter trim was a pure witch to fit, it came off a later car and is now on an early one (its only two pieces of trim I can get) so I had to go down the whole lower length and gently tap in the part that clips under the gutter section on the roof so it was a nice firm fit all way along, must have had it one and off about 1/2 dozen times a side before I was happy.
Needs polished up now.
Still waiting on manifold studs to put the engine bay back together, those reduced head nuts have 3 crimped bits at end to self lock (similar shape to tri-tap screw) however the standard imp studs are only long enough to support using a flat washer and a standard nut, with Franks manifold fitted you might struggle to get a socket or even a spanner on.
If you have not done so already put making up some longer UNC/UNF studs on list to replace the standard ones in the head, with the reduced head nuts makes the job so much easier

One thing l hate is making studs.
Much prefer making loads of swarf , l'm well known for that.
Someone once said to me "you know Bob ,50% of what you make is scrap" it sounds like an insult but actually he's right , we make so many holes in things and then machine up another part to partially fill that first hole, particularly in the plastic moulds we make, where we use different materials for different parts of the moulds , the actual moulding areas are generally made from hardenable materials.
And working on car parts making hubs in particular you remove so much material from a large diameter , you put a large hole in the middle then you partially refill it with bearings.

But as usual what should be a simple job if pattern parts fit turns into a nightmare.
Hatch fits perfect with no seals, nice even gap, put seals in fits like a bag of odd bolts
Seals in sits way too proud way too much !
Slicing and dicing time I reckon but will leave that until tomorrow now, other bits arrived
