And back to the clutch, cannot for the lack of trying like a bear get that 3/8 to 7/16 to seal without a weep stop it weeping.

So bugger the faffing around, the flares seem fine so plan B

Runa final small amount of 1/4" line from that jucntion straight to the master cylinder and get rid of the 3/16 link section. Need a 7/16 female to 3/8 reducer for the master cylinder so it should arive shortly.



Just need to wait till the reducer arrives as I cant be bothered having to mop up fluid twice

And as the heat shrink sleeving arrived today I managed to get the two rings for the fan shroud rubber cleaned off and zinc coated, then sleeving over it and shrunk, will fit tomorrow

And why stop there !

Battery bracket also arrived (thanks Dave Lane for the tip, this bracket fits very very well) and I just cut off the end and painted again to be nice and tidy



So the threaded retainers were cleaned up, etched clean and then zinc primered up, add couple leayers of heat shrink sleeving and we should be ready to go tomorrow

Time to make some leads fro grounding the engine. I have never trusted the short braided part bunged at the transaxle point as it is too exposed.

So I made up a 25mm sq braided lead, added some grease and some sleeving and mounted it between the battery and the engine directly.

And some more needed, all the ground wiring has ben done in 25mm sq except the third lead to the chassis which is 16mm sq.




So thats the other two made up and ready to go

Coil mounted as well as ignition leads installed as they arrived today. Just need to find a distributor now thats OK, time to rumage in the box.

The elusive reducer.

Pull ot 3/16 and rerun in 1/4 all way and see what shakes,

and prepped the main fuse box and primary relay, not sure if that will go in tomorrow or not.

I'm not sure you really need the fuses.

Just use thin wire and this will burn out before causing any significant fire damage. ;)

And thats the fan shroud buttoned up.

Could not leave those clamp rings without covering in heatshrink andter cleaning then up, they bug me when they rust.

And between cleaning up the stainless trim for the gutters, time to find a dizzy, had planned on electronic with fuel injection but that will be next year now at least, still the throttle body will be drop on...





So found a 45D which is lucky as all the other ones in the box are stuffed, seized or wobble like a bit of string

So its this or nout, lucky it cleaned up so well, I was worried that it toowas seized but it was just the years old grease going solid and after a wipe down and quick clean all is good.

VAC pot needed a lttle love as it was bit crusty so quick scuff and some zinc peimer, will add some clear tomorrow.

Overall shaft in very good nick, wish i had remebered to mak how it came off though, might end up with bottom drive 180 degrees out now and timed of nr 4
