Rear finisher for headlining fitted, decided to use these new style push in fixings rather than those silly sping things.

Does not fit too bad, need to hide the excess wires a bit better but the old LED number plate lamp seems to be working a treat, I left a loop in case I fit a switch to rear hatch so the lights come on when hatch opened.

Total sum of work past days, the 28/36 now has an air filter.

Due to ever dercreasing budgets for imp bits, the filter is up cycled from a similar but bigger carb off a VW, will need to get soem kind of O2/AFR meter to see how it runs on the road.

Car back in the air to get to the underbelly. The high lift jack and the tall stands make a huge difference.

So managed to tidy up the seat mount nuts and get some sealer on them.
Removed cover tray and found the reason my reverse lights had failed, swuitch had disintegrated. Plan B for that I think
Managed to wipe down what i could but too much overspray so will need some more colour

First task take servo out of line

Can remove later, left enough spare with big loop.

Just need to remeber brakes bleed Front left/right Rear right then left

yip seen peeps spending ages following manual not realising the rear mount servo route is arse for whatsit

And an inspection of the oil leaks from our professionally rebuilt gearbox.

Given this was already back once for same issues and they are here again after zero miles, I am bitterly dissapointed to say the least.

So will need to look at options which with the lot so high up I might just get the hydraulic table and pull the lot out and refit the old transaxle with new seals abck in.

We can then consign the £500 waste of space to the skip

First leak from selector shaft. Would not be end of the world but I am sure there was a charge for replacement shaft and seals......



However this one is a witch and a show stopper

Again second attempt to fix this has apprantly failed, I reckon the second "repair" was wipe its backside and send back,


The weeps seem to come from the actual threads/joints rather than failure of the seal inner lip as that seems dry, I have sprayed off the area so its clean

Still at present I am livid.




I already had to use a drip tray for the back seal and empty it each week, now I need two trays.

I wish, the butlers, maid, nanny, cleaners name here is yours truly but I cannot cook worth a hoot so Helen gets landed with that

I relocated 6 of the staf lockers when we moved out, these are now Nail Gun / SDS Drill /Spring compressor tools / Paint and consumable storage / Aeresol storage and plasma cutter kennel. Plasma cutter gets its own kennel as it has been known to bite

They were just steel storage cabionets at the right price.

Dave picked up some crackers as well at one time his work were throwing out Dave Lane

Fuel line rerouted - done
New choke cable installed - Done

My old version was making the dash look cluttered and I would still need to make a bracket and some kind of M6 attached handle





so decided to relocate it back to where it was in first place as this car was originally auto-choke it never had the choke lever in the floor




Servo removed and brakes re-bled - done

Fit Mikes hocks - done

Lower edge of sills touched up as was floor where I added the seat mounts

More over spray removed


Need to repair my revese light switch as I must have been too forcefull or the switch needed more free play on the spring as I smashed it. More or less same problem as the retrofit one from factory. Its getting rerouted to a switch on dash with a sounder for now.

Handbrake adjusted and cover plate can go back on. Fuel tank breather fitted and it can go back on its wheels

Small server glitch so reposts

First outing up and down coal wynd, step hill, nout fell off so all good

Still work to do like speedo cable for a start

Who needs a speedo anyway !

And my attempt at a bit of a rev up the hill, damn thing is loud, neighbours not happy

So with speedo cable fixed

New fuel breather , 1/4" copper pipe and some heat shrink, I never liked that flexi stuff and with aux rad always afraid it gets brittle.




And installed, you can just see the inertia cutout for te fuel pump hiding

And time for the expansion tank to fill the space the servo was taking up.








Ran out of blanking plugs so had to sacrafice a hose tail by cutting off barb, tap out to take M8 and assemble. If needs must

And one final touch, some matching bling for the oil filler cap

Could not mount it as I wanted though, it had to sit tall or it would not clear the oil cooler , something learned

But man it looks cool, will get nice label done for that
