Anything van is used for would mean having somewhere to go and at moment i cant drive or lift anything that would need van to fit in.

Plus its a pig of a job welding the van as its made of choclate covered paper so i have redesigned ford rech a bit haha

And after enlisting the help of Mr Worm (aka my sone Liam) time to clean the dreaded stainless bits.

All dusted off and cleaned and shiny

Trim clips started to be fitted

Was short of the trim clip/nut/threaded inserts so work halted till they arrive tomorrow.

And nice to see some of those lovely chammy trim lines restored.

just need to get my brush on end of a bit of conduit now to seal backs of those clips on front wing. at least the doors are easy to get too

drivers front wing and both rear wings are new so need to drill new holes completely.

No original clips but ones i had were fine Dave Lane

i worked around the screw fixed bits by using some hard nylon screws and just feather off the heads so the fit was really tight.

Well whole night for one wing and my hand is killing me even with help from mr worm

Seems he has taken a liking to the car, checking it for size

Anyway front wing complete, was a monster struggle actually, still getting badly dizzy when getting up, same reason I am now one handed should rename the vid to the curse !

With help again from my son Liam, aka Mr Worm, very proud of him as he is not practically gifted although slightly concerned how much he is liking the drivers seat

This wing had some repairs and the holes were gone, I have a few bits that need touched in but all in all seems good.









All in all turned out OK, could have been a disaster tho

Might leave the back sections till I have the cast off

cast stil on at least another 6 weeks and thats only if the repairs to the tendons and tissues were a success find out more next Tuesday when cast comes off for a wound check, see if repir has held (tendon repairs notorious for failures) but then its moulded plastic split to imobilise hand again and a new plaster cast.

Unreal, cast is so big as thumb has to be set straight out I can only wear t shirts and a few polo shirts, naff all else fits over it

but I upgraded to 3 hands with help of Liam, not sure he learned anything though other than he fits in behind the wheel

Just seen your batch of relays in a picture , how many are there ? what do they operate , was still planning my installation , might make bridge to load relays & fuses in front of water pipe on off side (so water pipe stays along bulkhead but is covered by electrics mainly on off side)

Bob, I have a small relay and fuse bank in the back for

Heated Screen
Fog lamp
Reverse lamp

As it turns out I modified the lenses for LED when I was chasing power for the heated screens to figure out alternator size (mine is right on limit if all on) so the relays are overkill

Fuse wise I have the high current ones in the engine bay and a bank of six for others



I have changed it up a bit since then as I added a second temp sensor that used up one of the spares. Old drawing below.



Notice the two fuses for the aux ciggy / powr socket, its fused but still live when the battery disconnect is in effect. This is so I can perhaps work on car if battery is diconnected OR so I can plug the trickle charger in in garage when in storage knowing the rest of the car is isolated.

Up front was same idea, fuses and relays similar to Daves.

Sides, indicators, main beam, dip beam, spots, heater and horn are the basics

Time to man up and drill the fresh paint for the trim

Top trim fitted, coupleof mis-drills but easy to hide. NO HOSES WERE HARMED

Not all good news though.

Miles the "professionally rebuilt" gearbox has done, about 30m in / out of garage, thats it.

Now a puddle of oil at the nose end

So engine will need to come out, honestaly wish I had never had them done ! Going to change oils eals on old box but good and throw that in, that one might end up in landfill

Would not have been so angry but it was returned for leaking oil already from diff nuts/flange and this end, guess once its filled with oil its unhappy

Need to get clkoser look when out if it is flange or seal on selector shaft
