Can't beat the annoyance of brass splinters , they have the ability to disappear even when looking through an eye glass , but you know they're there every time you touch that area , by picking something up or putting pressure on the skin in area of splinter.
Tend to go through phases of cutting ones self , don't have a cut for months then half a dozen in a few days..

Holes marked
Drilled and fitted with M8 stainless rivuts
Bar then fitted, still hoping it will not be ugly, the adjustment works great
Seat checks,
Big butt fits and can get to pedals > check
Seats rolls back and forward > check smooth as silk
Seat clears side pockets with door closed > check good 15mm to spare plus frame has a little more wiggle room yet.
Seat goes far enough forward and tilts OK > check
Room for handbrake access > check
The current high tech back bracket will be replaced with somethinga little better later
And MOST important the look in the car from window is not totally silly looking
And apparantly my little best buddy was waiting for me, screaming place down when I was in garage, welcomed back inside with warmed up slippers and a present of the "fish" I leave lying around for her to hunt down for me. Always finsd it and brings it to me at bedtime, meow meow meow ....

Col
I plan on getting Lesley to re-cover them in black but thats not in the budget yet.
Going to try and get it on road first Col, no point having nice back seats if te wheels fall off if I have left anything loose
Plus I need to drive it to get the front suspension sorted.
Will see if I can get it actually on the road next week if seatbelts arrive as I can just tax it without MOT
SOmething I said I would not do but if needs must

Gary, yes, they fit me very well, side supporton seats on an imp can be a bit hit/miss due to the weird offset on the steering wheel, you dont notice it as smuch with a standard seat.
The holes for the M8s were deliberately oversize (was 12mm OD tube inserts to stop the box section crimping) so had a little wiggle room.
The front of the seat comes up a little padding wise so I wat to set it after driving a bit
Would be a complete bummer to fit a nice seat and still be as uncomfortable as an imp one
Still unsure on the back though Gary. I did not want to but I might end up taking the blind rivets out the rear seat brackets, modify and refit. We will see.

The seat belts arived today, These were modern ones from Securon,
Fitted to standard rear wing body mount for seatbelts, given these were fitted to all imps even when no floor mounts were fitted to the floor pans I wonder if this was actually for something else and "re-purposed" for seat belts early 65 when it became a requirement. Now there is a question
With the back anchor point fitted, the second anchor point for the long length fits perfect onto the factory M12 seat belt fixing in the MGF seat
The short webbing side was the same, fitted perfect to the M12 fixing on other side of the MGF seat (original purpose)
Need to make some kind of cover for that lot eventually
Thats it in, adjusted to size (and I am a biggish fella) with length to spare !
So all sorted !!!

Col, that would be cool. Pat has all the magic restoring stuff done at his place, I rarely ever do any detailing
The stuff I got for the 356, I think it was Meguiars and Turtle Wax were both crap.I ran some foam cleaner, brake cleaner and Mr Muscle over it and it was far better cleaner, some wax furniture polish, sorted !
This looks a little dry though so reckon its neeeding fed more than cleaned
