BRU 434B And the Journey Begins - First Engine Removal and more
Well of course, just trying to way up if its worth it or just change to Durite gauges entirely
I will wait a bit and see if Robin can find replacement senders for me. I actually have anothe NOS Smiths kit from Robin sitting to go into Mildred but reckon that kit has same problem.
End of a long day Tavistock to Manchester and back but now have a Andy Jones rebuilt engine in the garage! Looking forward to getting it installed at the weekend.
Looks good, top bloke Andy..

100% MK 1 just as rootes intended it, no mods, no problem
Would this stud work for connecting the engine to earth? As I have removed the old manky earth strap at the gearbox.
Would think this would be ok, I think on Mildred we put a strap from the battery to the engine and rear cross member, also fitted a new one at the gearbox too.

Robin does a pre-engaged version Dan, although if fully refurbished and a good pinion these starters do last a very long time as they are.
I have never found the need for a high torque or pre-engaed starter anyway.
Dave Dave Lane any suggestions for a refurb or where to get an exchange ?
John
We can referb them at work , proper job it would be too but it wont be cheap , you can get Chinese copies but they are rubbish IMHO , Im running original Lucas ones i referbed yonks ago , they run perfectly , BTW technically on pre engaged you need to turn the ring gear around
