mix 1:1 well, leave at least 10 minutes, thin 20%,

Setup wise should be at least 1.8 in cold as it is quite viscous but done it myself even at 1.4 when warm.

Your gun is new so unless it had sticky bits on the needle or nozzle seat should be fine.

Occasionally when cleaning the air cap jets which create the fan get blocked.

you dont need to use epoxy thinners for washing the gun, just ordanary thinners will do.

Did it spit on first spray or was it ok first use, spitting on second, if the latter I would guess it is paint lumps or sticking bits, just strip and clean and see how you go

Water in the line is another one but doubt thats the case.

Thanks John I think I didn’t put enough of the epoxy thinners in. Will let you know how I get on with the rest of the parts. I have a 1.8 so will try that as-well.

Some good progress this week, rear suspension including new bearings bolted in. New brake lines, clutch line and handbrake cables in. Will update some pictures once I’ve cleaned up the garage, grease and mess everywhere!

Been putting the rear suspension back together so I could get the wheels on and push her out into the garden so I can spray the engine bay outside.

Just putting the rear drums on but they don’t fit over the shoes?

have undone the adjuster so not that. No brake fluid in yet and new cylinders.

Any tips and advice?

Would need pictures Dan but on assembly the shoes rarely sit concentric so sometimes need a little adjustment, even on the hold down kits they wont be true.

Only other reasons would be the shoes being pulled apart too much which means they are not seated in the adjuster/cylinder like the should be

Dan, those shoes look like they are sitting to far "down" give the ends at the cylinder a gentle tap upwards

Thanks John, I can just about get the drum on but once’s on no movement.

Are the leading and trailing brake shoes actually different parts?

Nope, shoes are the same and yours look OK.

If you can get the drum on have you tried tapping round the drum with soft hammer to centre them up, its amazing how much movement there is on them but yours look to far "out"

Dont think so Dan, the springs should be pulling them in and they are looking expanded

Let me pull the back wheel off the car, its only on with 2 nuts anyway and i have the drum retaining screws here now to fit
