I just fired in with the hole cutter in the first one before I thought about them being sided. :o obviously the first one I did was the one that I should have moved the spring tang first.... Oops.. Carry on regardless, similar result but not as clever as yours..

Didn't get much done tonight but something none the less.. Fitted the headlamps which will need to come back out as I need to seal them in some way. I'm thinking the closed cell foam route self adhesive more than likely cut to shape.. Do a trial one some point this week.

So tonight the headlamps went in along with the fuel tank framework, tool tray and I made up check straps for the front suspension to prevent the springs falling out of place.

I ran out of stainless nylocs for the bolts I was using for the straps so came home. Continue tomorrow to finish of the rears.

The H4 lights will let me see where I am going when it is dark... after using Pauls car in the summer it was obvious the standard ones weren't the bright.

Originality has it's place......not here though :D

Got it, conversion to H4 but can the wires handle all the extra current, for that matter can that little battery cope too, only kidding. :)

It won't have much wiring from the Imp in there as I am using the bike wiring loom and extending it forward from the engine.

Here is one or two of the things the wiring will be powering up that I fitted them tonight.
Fitted the red bulbs for the tail/brake lights but no orange ones yet for the indicators.

Colin, if you want a hand with the wiring to plan it, relays, routes etc just give me an Pat a shout, we have been known to manage to wire up a thing or two in out time :):D:D

I would actually suggest doing car wiring first then back to battery, then look to patch bike harness in, like the BMW conversion I had to bring oil/water and tacho up front, everything else runs remote by relay at back
As you can see I did a fair bit of planning to use the wiring in DDG, would not take much to mod for PES, as they say, many hands make light work as long as there is a plan.

13 core heavey trailer wire and some 8mm sq mm feeds, deed done easy and all fused and relay up so no heavey currents in harness, front end part of that laready has headlights, fuel pump, courtesy light, provision for spots........

no heavy current goes via ignition switch its only feeds to front for 2 sub circuits ( so lights dont go fritz if heater gives up and so on) and as Dave Lane will tell you relay switch at point of load and put bugger all current through ignition switch is way to go, especially when powering ECUs as a small 1V drop travelling to front of car to power someting in back can be a right PITA

Thanks John for the offer. Wiring is always the scarey part of any build I do to be honest. The idea I have for The Pest wiring is basically extend all the wiring from the loom of the bike as the basics will be the same. Only added bit on the Imp campared to the bike is the heater wiring... They just don't have them on a bike???? :D

Tonight i finished of the brake li es to the front discs, fitted the wheels and sat it down on the ground.. Oh also fitted the steering column and wheel to so I can move it about.
nowt going to be done until next week now.

Wow Colin, that looks cracking, must be ready to go next week by the looks of it.

If you are in any way worried about the wiring listen to John, fitting relays, fuses and the likes is all very simple and can make a huge difference in the event of problems down the line. Make sure you have plenty tea please. :)

You need more heat reflecting stuff Colin , Pat I found a roll if it at nr 25 in garage, must have beeen deposited by the relocation expert at some time. Tatty at edges but similar stuff Col, not adhesive backed though, meant for heat not sound but another layer might not go wrong, you need about 30mm where you put the hangers for the headlining as it relies on jamming into the rood deadening to stay upright....
