At the moment it's on the stands as I am changing the clutch hose to try and save the air leaking into it.
I didn't know that Errol was on until I had a conversation with Scott mid week ..
That was a good show a few years ago when I went up in Paul's white super.
Are you going?

Cheers Pat.
I have taken photos of it before and it looked white in the sun but that one above is definitely a black and white photo.
So of to Glamis it was on Sunday morning and possibly a wee bit later than I wanted to but not by much so of we headed to Kinross services for the first meet up of the morning, cruising steady at first. As we got closer to Kinross it was obvious I was late and might not make it in time. ..
Of the slip road and into the services to be greeted by a gaggle of red Italian type cars... Ferraris I think they call them, no Imps there... Must have left already so back onto the M90 at a brisker pace(legal limits, honest) than before passing several classics on the way we finally caught the Imp convoy at the Bridge of Earn which was a relief.
Once over the bridge(can't remember its name)over the Tay on the M90 the car started to vibrate quite a bit when at 55mph or anything above third gear with any sign of throttle.. Oh no. First thought was the diff has cooked itself. Struggled onto the Morrisons at Dundee where we met the Fife Impers and then onto Glamis.. Very delicately on the throttle once into 4th gear as that's where the vibes started.
All into Glamis and parked up in the scorching sunshine that stayed with us all day, 17 Imps and 2 Clans gave a great showing for the Imp Club with a lot if interest from the public. The pest got a bit of interest with its engine arrangement too.
Anyway it was a long haul home with the vibration but once home and after leaving it in the garage over night I had a look at what was the cause of the noise and vibration. Checking driveshafts, ujs, diff oil, engine oil, sump removal and then finally moving the diff back and removing the reverse gear arrangement and the prop shaft the culprit was found.
A fubarred donut that sits between the prop shaft and the output shaft flange from the gearbox. 6 knackered bolts that hold it all together will all need replaced. These are easily replaceable and range from cheap to Lotus competition priced ones that fit on the BMW M3s which may be the order for today as a replacement.
Cheers

Yeh, I was pretty lucky to get home with it John.
It could've been put on the wrong way round but hard to tell. It has been on and off quite a few times recently with the reverse gear going in and out. Once I get the new one I will be checking on how it should be fitted and doing it correctly to avoid it happening again.
I know the BMW ones have arrows marked on them for the bolt fixings to the flange, Nothing on my busted one here though.
Cheers

I cant rember the way Colin, I think its pushes drive to shaft against the fat section but I cant remebr correctly thinking upside down and left to right
But between the holes there is 3 fat serctions and 3 thinner sections and it matters which ones sit between the drive and shaft in direction of travel/ John

OOOh!!! Its been a very long time since I last posted here about the Pest.
Well it was MOT'd on Monday there with no issues after me using it last year and putting 2000 miles on it!!
Hopefully more this year and attend as many events and shows that I can.
See you all at the shows and events.
Cheers
