Absolutely Pat. Need to get to that point next after I cut down the loom and attach all the relays , CDi units and regulator to the framework which I mad a start on yesterday afternoon.
First I made up an alloy heat shield plate and mounts/tabs welded to the frame that I could mount the CDi unit on behind the battery. I still need to make up a little bracket so the original rubber holder for the CDi can be secured to. Later today hopefully.

You can see I have partially stripped the wiring to be shortened too.
The wiring loom will run behind the engine so it wont be seen so easily, trying to make it neat so drilled the frame and countersunk some flanged nuts into the frame. Probably use some P clips to attach to the loom there.

Then I did the same for the regulator, it saved putting a plate onto the frame so positioned iot where I could use more countersunk flanged nuts.

Nice work Col,

If you fancy it I used a fair bit of this stuff, link as example, makes a nice tidy job when just tire-wrapped to a frame as P clips take a fair bit of space for larger bundles.

I will have to make time to get it sorted properly. Hardly a rush now as winter is on its way and it won't be coming out for that.
We may have yours and mine ready for the spring, especially the rate your going at with the Chamois.
Will it be turbo or super charged once its done??????

im planning on fitting the engine and gearbox out of the orange one which should speed up process. Then I will make a start on the orange bodywork. I'm anticipating a long lockdown.?

I should have windscreen next week, thats sort of last piece of the ppuzzle to get water tight. Still need to find me some back seats but end up ir eckon getting ours recovered in black

A little bit of tidying of the wiring or maybe I should say shortening off the wiring to the cdi unit so it all fits in last night.
Before I did that though I had to cut down a rear mudguard seat undertray from a Honda Blackbird so I can use the fuse box mount from it.


This was bought so I can use this part from it

Which was then cut out to be made a wee bit smaller

Then it can be attached to the fuse box and temporarily fitted to the framework with a cable tie until I make a proper bracket for it to be attached to.

Tie wrapping may come later for some stuff John but not for the bits on show . Even then I have some nice stainless plates from CBS that you can use for tie wrapping to once the plate has been bolted or fixed to a panel. More detail
