Cheers Dave,
Slowly slowly . Best way to describe it.
Engine back in subframe with exhaust on properly with gaskets to head now. Figuring out best place for coils and battery now,. Brackets required so will be busy with welder at weekend hopefully.
Good to be back in the garage doing something
Cheers

Had another day off yesterday, well a day away from work I can call it so that's a bonus and three in a row which has been rate lately. Didn't quite get anything done related to the Pest but I did do today.
Bit of a runaround today into town then out to see Scott at his workshop and pick up a Davies waterpump from him which will be fitted soon.
Once back home it ws time to weld in the battery tray and some supports for it. The idea is to keep it like it would be in the bike as I mentioned earlier to save chopping the wiring about as much so the battery is now sitting behind the engine. The fuse box and relays etc will be mounted etwen the frame rails or outboard to the front of the rails so the regulator can keep cool. .
To the left of the last pic you can see the exhaust silencer. I will be filling in this area between the frame rails, with sheet aluminium to support the fuse boxes etc and keep some heat away from them also.
Cheers

"When you planning to have it roar Col ?"
About three years ago John
That obviously didn't happen so anytime soon I hope within the next week or so. See how I get on with work and the like.
I would like to have the coils and various bits of the wiring etc all mounted before I fire it up although that really isn't necessary to see if it goes of course. Even it turning over and sparking would be a result at the moment.
Cheers

We had the same question on Jims engine as we did not know if it was running, so decided to mount/wire just the bits needed and do a test fire and make sure it did not rattle its gonads off first.
So when fitted it can stay in there !
might be an idea to hang a few danglies and at least get it to rumble./ John

Well I may not have one the lottery tonight but I've gotten close as the Pests motor has turned over on its own steam!!!!! Or at least with the aid of the battery I fitted and wired in tonight.
Hopefully try some fuel in it later this week if not tomorrow evening.
#Getting closer!!
Cheers

Col, nice that will motivate you a bit now ! Reminds me when we first got the engine in Millie running with pats HSE commentry and cehck list, not that he does not trust my work or anything was great hearing it go and fantastic just getting in / out garage on its own (even with crap brakes) amazing.
Be prepared for the "buzz"/ John
