Collected all the bits an bobs for engine fitting to the frame and before finally to the car later this week.
Once I sorted all that lot aswell as finding the relative nuts, bolts washers to fit them altogether it kind of looked like this.
I had to push it over to the car though
Still got a few things to do before finally putting it in the car hopefully this week.
Cheers

Now you see it.......
Now you don't!!!
The booth has been dismantled and now all the space I had is in a Renault van ready for its return.
The Pest has been moved to another location as the space I have been in for over a year allowing me to paint the car and do other stuff to it is needed for other things. Really grateful to the farmer for allowing me to have the space and for me to come and go as I wished. Certainly made life a lot easier for painting and progressing the car. Big thank you to John as well for giving me the long term loan of the gazebo so I could fit it into the barn in the first place, top man.
Cheers

Good idea that Pat, plenty of room for all of that in there.
Not a huge amount to report on progress as I've been having van issues and busy with work once again.
Little things done and some more stuff ordered continuing progress but at a time.
Some bracketry making this week though.
This allows me to fit this on the inside of the rear nearside wing so I can attach this.
Which looks like this on the car.
A wider view of the engine with the carbs and air box fitted along with the exhaust.
More bracketry making this evening which I will hopefully have fitted tomorrow evening to give a cool fresh air intake for the carbs.
Cheers

Yeh, you are right John. £23.00 I think it was so great value for sure.
I'm waiting on a few smaller hoses and t-pieces so it can be hooked upto the cooling system now. Got to bleed the clutch and tidy up and finish the wiring at the dash end along with many other little things I have as a list on a white board that I was given for a Xmas pressie .. It's coming in useful now
Cheers

Slowly scoring of things to do on my list from the Xmas white board now, so far today.......
Fit the some new hoses m the cooling system with the suitable clips.
Cut down the seat belt bolts that were sticking too far from under the floor,
Re-bleed the brakes after fitting a new brake light switch and losing the fluid.. Oops!!!
Bleed the clutch which now has a quality (instead of a cheap Chinese one)dry break inline to help with easy engine removal/refitting/replacement if and when required.
Fit the front wheel bearing hub seals, refit brakes and wheel's.
Removed the fuel tank as it needs a breather welded on lower so the bonnet can close properly The original breather with an AN6 fitting sits way to high the way it is. Only 30mm clearance.
Drain the oil from the engine, remove the exhaust, remove the sump and clean it all up and refit using rtv sealant instead of my home made(leaky) gasket so hopefully when full of oil it doesn't drip oil(just like a proper Imp) :
I did have a wee helper (my son) today though for bleeding the brakes and clutch which was great as he also fitted the mirrors for me after I drilled the holes in the doors.
I best show of his work...
Thy still need tightened and fettled but that will only happen once I refit the drivers seat, also need to fit an internal mirror to the windscreen.
That's it for today but will be back in tomorrow refitting the exhaust and possibly the fuel tank if my mate welds it up straight away.
Cheers

Today I have sorted out the throttle and choke cables. For the throttle I used a tandem brake cable with a little mod at the soldered nipple end that it uses as standard to fit the Blackbird carbs. Basically making the barrel a little bit smaller so it sutis the throttle wheel on the car s. At the other end I modified the Imp throttle pedal so a solder less niple could be fitted easily and stay in place.
The Imp choke cable supplied by Malc needed no modification other than a being shortened slightly. It was more of modifying the Blackbird choke attachment to the car s that needed a bit of work.
Once I was happy with that part of my list I moved onto fitting the one piece rear window.. On the third attempt I got it in eventually but not without a few choice words I must admit.
I did fire up the engine as well and like any build I have a little issue of a leak from one of the return oil pipes, which I thought I had sorted out.. obviously not though..
Cheers
