As we currently have no TV ive been keeping busy by pratting about in the garage .
Ive changed the vinyl covered hardboard in the sides and back of the Vusky for more of that 1mm thick red fibreglass sheet .Shouldnt warp and weighs nothing to speak off
Originals were all quite warped but obviously ive kept them

So self isolation continues and boredom often sets in .
So i had a play with the last remaining bit of red fiberglass .
This time to replace the curly headlining - well I say headlining but its more a 3 inch strip of knackered hardboard . In fact the original is long gone and this was really one for the rear of a saloon i bunged on .
Initially the plan was to cut the fibreglass to fit ( slightly deeper to cover the roof aerial mount ) then cover it in white vinyl or something else yet to be decided .
Anyway an hour or so later it was cut and trial fitted and actually im liking the red - had a bit of red edging that was on the rear seat mount and plonked that on for now .
Opinions on it good or bad ??

This coming week way back in 1965 a Commer Imp van was built in Linwood .
400,000 miles , a fair few engines and gearboxes , three paint jobs ( all bad ones ) , the butchery involved in fitting side windows and a rear seat , three crashes - one killing an Austin 1100 , one killing a brown Maestro and one hit and run by something red , quick and on the wrong side of the road , One extended stay in a scrapyard with a car on the roof , lots of welding , loads of second hand panels and parts , a complete rewire and 7 owners in 9 towns later its still somehow hanging on to life.
Always reliable apart from a few dead engines ( using a pint in 40 miles being a low point ) and a transaxle that shouldnt of worked but somehow did ( Cheers

Happy birthday to The Vusky - got only knows how you actually made it but here you are
