  • Progress on the imp sport is going well needs a sandblast to reveal any other horrors

Progress on the #sunbeam imp sport is going well.

The car has had new inner and outer arches fitted by another garage who do imps and by the looks of it they should not be allowed near a wheel barrow.

The owner pull the car after a visit to the chaps workshop.

Its now having the full body work including a sandblast to reveal any other horrors I will keep the pictures coming

        Its unbelievable isn't it.

As I said to Colin earlier today, some people have a cheek to call themselves professionals and charge pro rates to do work like that, just makes the job so much harder for folks like Col to put right.

And to have no coating on the inner side is just mind boggling.

Getting to the stage now folks like Colin will have to insist on shells getting blasted before looking at it.

That is "quite terrible" to be polite.

l get loads of customers that come in with various repair jobs that they have tried to repair themselves, most common is trying to remove broken studs and they've drilled and drill has wandered or broken and it'll cost them twice as much as if they'd left it to me to do a ten minute easy repair ..
Must be even worse when dealing with so many bodges in the life of a fifty year old car

James and his Dad at CPE gives me grief all the time for having a go myself at that very task

Bob, had to deal with a bodge or 2 on the green chammy, reckon it took me more time to clean back than it would have taken tyo fix properly in first place.

Unlike Colins example which is a recent repair, these were all "needs must" back in the day repairs.

These were the GOOD PARTS !
