Hi, I have just started on my imp project, there is some pretty severe rust above the front suspension mounts. I have seen some people cutting this part out and welding in a plate on the outer edge of the h bracket which I am planning to do. I'm curious has anyone done this in the group? Any tips? I have attached some pictures of the project and the rust areas in question. I am going to replace the static safety belts with retractable ones. When I look at the internet page of Securon, they recommend the type “500/45” (Singer Chamois), where the retractor must be fitted vertically. Has anyone used this type, and if so, where have you located the retractor? Another possibility is to use the original bracket, but then I have to use the type “264/30” (made for MGB?) with adjustable angle retractor. Has anyone used this type or other similar type? For sale: €1500.1969 LHD 875cc standard Sunbeam Imp ( Dutch Registered). Finally getting around to selling my Sunbeam Imp. I bought this 6 years ago. I used it for the first three but have another project in my garage, which is nearly ready for paint. The Dutch APK expired 3 years ago.
