Question for anyone that’s rebuilt a engine in there imp, stripped all of mine down today ready to drop the head to a machine shop, the fire face doesn’t seem to have any meat built in to accommodate a skim? Is it standard practice to use a shim once skimmed or can you get away with once? Or do people just avoid skimming the head all together? My thanks today to Col Rooney for coming out to get my Super Imp going again today After six months slumbering in storage , it was quite reluctant to start Problem was lack of fuel , drained back to the tank.
