Our windshield trims seem to be different to the norm for classic cars. Can anyone offer advice on how to get them into the rubber seals? Is there a super special tool I'm missing? Is there a "correct" sequence? I had a classic car windscreen fitter come and try...his sequence was (1) rubber onto glass, (2) trim then onto rubber, (3) complete assembly onto car. He failed, twice, after 3 hours he gave up and left. On U-tube clips for other vehicles their sequence seems to be (…1) rubber onto glass, (2) assembly onto car, then (3) trim installed afterwards...but they don't have the double hooks on the back of the trim we do. I've bought a windscreen install set of tools, but there isn't a super special tool for our type of trim. I'm thinking it can't be that hard...Hillman had to get them assembled and installed in a fairly swift way, right?..but after 2 hours last night I thought I need to ask community guidance. I was trying a different sequence, (1) trim onto rubber first...if I had been successful, I was then going to (2)mount that trim and rubber combination onto the glass and then (3) the whole assembly onto car. I'm keen to learn here, I've set aside tomorrow to do this, my Californian needs front and rear screens installing...
