Despite the damp weather I am still doing bits in the drive with the Cortina and Project GUO..

This afternoon's quest was to modify the stub axle carriers that were supplied by Jeff Day together with a pair of front suspension arms and whole swivel pin assembly.

So in the shed I went and thought it would be helpful for anyone new to Imps ,or to some that find themselves not familiar to rid excessive negative camber having fitted shorter springs.

Taking into consideration getting the front suspension apart is one thing after many years of use.

Fortunately someone in a previous ownership had re-assembled with oiling up fasteners making my task a lot easier.

Bonus here is that the swivel pins are not worn either..

It was my idea just to use components to be able to move the bodyshell of the Imp more easily..But as things are going on I am getting enthusiastic in aiming towards going further into the build..

Anyhow, to restore lost positive camber one method is to cut off some 5 mm from the top of the stub axle carrier...SEE PICTURE and use the removed metal to the bottom.,welding it to the S.A,carrier.

Of course if the idea is to have increased ride height then you cut off from the bottom and place on top to induce negative camber..

I only had time today before it succumbed to darkness so more detail with be posted tomorrow evening.
