As a child i was a bit lost, i hated football, had no interest in anything other than my lawn mower engine collection aged 10 i had 5 or 6 ?
my dad raced his mgb in a north west based championship called cockshoot cup, i went to all the meetings with him,(sat on a tool box clinging on to a roll cage)
Sometimes they had the special saloons on and that was where i first came in contact with imps, the sound, smell, and pure engineering by every day people was awesome.
these pics are of my special saloon that i feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to purchase, i will never restore it, the patina is so rich when i sit in it i imagine all the races it took part in from that truly golden era!
Today it is coming back to my house to have the engine and box fitted, brakes refreshed etc.
i hope to do a hillclimb in the near future.
i wanted to thank all the people who created these magnificent cars, the impression you made has given a life time of brain food, to the point now that my engine business only works on imp engines, which i feel very honoured.
