New Classic forces sale of my 1966 Singer Chamois, D reg.
I have owned this car for just over 8 Years. The car has been garaged in all this time. I have used the car in the summer months only and have covered just over 2000 miles in the car. It drives well and is very reliable. The car has had 8 Former keepers and was originally registered on 13/10/1966.
The previous owner carried out a full restoration including a Corley Conversions full engine rebuild, full re-spray, new cills, new wheel arches, new rear corners, new carpets and countless other new part replacements. The car had a couple of upgrades at this point, including converting the front brakes to fiesta disc brakes, an oil cooler was fitted, electronic ignition was added, fuses fitted to all electrics, dynamo changed to an alternator, and the cooling system was changed to an electric fan. I have all the receipts for this and the restoration.
The original mileage at the time of restoration was 97330, however a new speedo was fitted at the restoration so the odometer was reset to zero.
I have changed the oil and filers every year since I have owned the car and fitted rear seat belts, replaced the O/S front quarter light glass which exploded for some reason and replaced the battery.
The car is not concurs but very tidy and can be used as is, the areas that need looking at are the driver’s door doesn’t fit particularly well but does close with a knack, I think this needs lifting up slightly. There is a bit of surface rust developing on one of the insides of one of the rear wheel arches. One of the cills has been washed with a hose nozzle a bit hard and has removed some of the paint, so could do with a bit of paint touch up.
I have a number of spares which will be supplied with the car, a cylinder head , engine block, gearbox, brand new petrol pump and a distributor cap.
