The ongoing passenger-door saga. Late car, 1975, and the passenger door won't open. It's in that half-shut state where it wobbles and you'd usually bang it with your hip to get it to shut fully. However, it won't open or shut completely.
This is a lovely photo of the lock inside the door. I can get in there and actually pull on the lever that goes into the mechanism with my fingers, so I know it's not the long bar (which hasn't broken anyway) or the handle button not pressing hard enough.
How can I open the door? I have a spare mechanism that works so I don't mind destroying the door-side part of it. I don't have a spare striker plate so I'd like to leave that intact.
