Proposed run, need names though to Jim Fraser

Edinburgh & Fife Area Centre Scenic Run Sunday 22nd August

    f. It would be great to see a few more Imps or Imp based there so if you're at a loose end on Sunday, why not come along and join us? All welcome as always and bringing an Imp or Imp based mode of transport isn't compulsory!

I'd appreciate if you could let me know if you are planning on turning up, either by email or if on the day, via my mobile

The starting point will be Tesco South Queensferry, 5 Ferrymuir, South Queensferry EH30 9QZ

They have a petrol garage so ideal to fuel up before leaving and we can make use of the facilities there too. Meeting up time is 10am for a 10.30am departure.

The plan is to use the Edinburgh bypass to skirt around to the Fairmilehead junction, then right onto the A72 before branching off to go through Auchendinny via the B7026 then A6094 before joining the A701 at Leadburn.

We'll stay on the A701 all the way down The Devils Beeftub and into Moffat, parking up in The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Car park for a bit of a break.

From Moffat, we'll use most of the spectacular run that is part of The Moffat Classic weekend, going up to St Mary's Loch Glen Cafe where there is a large picnic area. I'd suggest bringing your own lunch or getting supplies in Moffat, the Cafe should be open but will probably be quite busy.

After lunch, we'll head over the road past Talla Reservoir and into Tweedsmuir, using the A701 back up to Rachan where we will turn right onto the B712, through Stobo and eventually coming into Peebles via the A72.

There's a parking area just over The River Tweed where we should find enough spaces to park up for a break.

From Peebles, it'll be a run back up the Edinburgh Road, the A703, through Penicuik and onto the Edinburgh bypass where we can head in our separate directions back home.

The approximate round trip will be 140 miles, a bit longer than usual but quite a bit of the run is on good A roads with decent scenery to enjoy throughout.

I hope you can join us and look forward to a great day out with the Imps.

(Alex, can you please share around your group too?)

    Regards, Jim
