The little 998 is almost ready with just a few bits and bobs to do. Now need a few miles on the engine to run it in. Not easy keeping it around 4k rpm with a R23 cam but the engine sounds fantastic between 4 and 5k so should be really nice a when I get a few more miles on it.and get it a bit higher. Really very noisy and think I scared a few ladies in Duns square whilst they were enjoying a coffee.
New webbers need a bit of fine tuning and will probably need to swap the jets fromm the old carbs. It's a very long time since I've driven an imp (about 50 years) and can't believe how brilliantly the car handles. Just need to re-learn how to throw it around at speed before the Newcastle Lombard Rally festival on 3rd july. I will need all the luck I can muster.
