Im still having the same problem here with the Covid 998 where going richer is making power. Been testing and I made a full throttle run yesterday, removed the plugs after (pic 1) doesn't look too bad however to achieve this I have end up with a very rich idle and sooted plugs driving around town. (2nd pic) its a nightmare in traffic like this. I'm remembering somthing Andy Jones told me a while back about strombergs going lean at high rpm and this looks to be happening here. He was of course right and i wish I had written down the entire conversation I had with him, no doubt I have forgotten some other top tips!
I've tested the ignition and it's OK, probably wants more advance but I'll look for the last few degrees later. I'm thinking the needles are the incorrect taper here. Thoughts? And how and where do I get new or custom ones? (Dont have a lathe) Thanks all
