I'm nearing completion of my '65 Imp II, I've pieced together this tired old mk1 box, although I don't think it will take any punishment at all, let alone from the Branchard built engine. I know the question has been asked repeatedly, but what are the differences with the later boxes and which is the most robust and which are best for reco parts? Any of the later boxes are a bit thin on the ground here in Aus.
I'm wondering how I can ID the later box if can find one?
I feel like rebuilding a box that's less prone to failure would be a sensible choice. Any help would be appreciated.
