Another day on the stiletto and the drama continues. It’s finally back on its wheels, hoorah! BUT. I’ve been very aware that whilst it’s been on the jig there was no way of fitting the rear crossmember, so now way to check alignment. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be easy, and I was right. It fitted badly before, and shutting the engine cover always has a knack to it....close it, push on the right, lock right handle, then left. Having done all this work has confirmed it’s had a hefty hit in the back, lots of lead in the corners etc.
I’ve spent all day bending, hammering, cutting, welding etc....especially on the offside, where I’d welded the inner and outer bottom corner together....in the wrong place. It’s better than it’s ever been, but look at the engine cover fit on the left and the right corner bottom!!? I’ve no idea what to do with this? Leave it, trim the cover? Set fire to it ?
