Thoughts all...
This was a lovely little engine - smooth and perky. It didn’t use oil or coolant. Happily cruised at 60mph... didn’t get hot.
Then suddenly overnight (after a longish motorway journey the day before), it started making this clacking noise.
I’ve got an automotive stethoscope and it appears to be on number four (closest to the clutch) and seems to be midway down the bore.
I’ve changed the oil and filter (not particularly dirty) in case that helped - no change.
Any ideas what it may be? The clack appears noisier in real life than on the vids... or it may be that I’m focussed on it!!
I’ve not driven it much since for fear of doing more damage...
