Found what can only be described as cellophane/plastic like pieces in the fuel filter on Tarka today as I finished changing the coolant and oil. Luckily I've got a spare fuel filter element, although this one has been in there for 3 years. Really odd. Anyone guess what it is? I do use Millers additive in the petrol. All the spark plugs were black, so it looks as if she is running to rich. Having said that my everyday use Fiat Grande Punto has also had, as the garage called them, clogged up spark plugs that put the EML on and put the car into limp mode earlier this year. I've now changed where I buy the fuel for the Fiat and it seems to run better. The Imps were fuelled at the same place as the Fiat. Dirty fuel perhaps? As per usual Tarka's coolant system bled easily unlike Nutmeg's normally does.
