When I had the Chamois out the other day with some of the local Imp guys I thought the rear end felt "Soft". So after inspection I changed the rear shocks as the originals from 1967 had rusted piston rods and subsequently wrecked the seals. So on with new ones and what a difference. Car feels far more planted on spirited cornering now. And I am glad to say that the BMW drive couplings are still as good as the day I fitted them 6,740 miles ago. In spite of the "Heath robinson spacers" (of which I will get no end of negative comments about). But as a retired MOT inspector, I would not have a problem with a car presented like this as long as they were tight and showing no damage and secure.
