NOT MINE BUT ON ANOTHER GROUP PAGE ( classic cars and parts for sale in the uk )

IT'S A HILLMAN IMP HUSKY....HAD TO LIST UNDER CHRYSLER!

HERE WE have a mega-rare 1969 Hillman Husky (imp) which, until three years ago when it changed hands, had been with the same owner for a mammoth 37 years. During that time he lavished oodles of love, care and maintenance on this antique oddity. There's a hand written record showing that the engine has been out several times for rebuilds, new clutches etc. Certainly she runs superbly and fair flies along on the open road. She needs painting, let's get that out of the way first of all. But on the positive side, her underneath is amazing and in another league to the body and paint. It is all in Zinc oxide (see photo).

It is believed that, at new, she formed part of Granada TV's small fleet of Huskies which were all white cars originally before being painted dark red from the waistline up over. Certainly you can still see some of the red beneath the green on the roof. These days she is in Connaught Green.

This lovely little old car has had a cherished life being well loved and very well maintained with only 4 owners its entire life.

More recently over the last few years the Husky has been used regularly for shows etc. and has had much work done including new brakes all round, Steering rack, Suspension, Bushes ,Clutch, Master cylinder overhaul ,Rota flex couplers and much more.

The bodywork is overall very solid and has a great patina but is best described as rough and ready. So please don't come and view and then tell me that. I know. She warrants a re-paint as she is good in all the right places. I can see some blue behind a door card. That will be because she has doubtless had replacement doors.

She has a current MoT until January 2021 with no advisories.

The engine has been overhauled and is superb with new alternator and starter motor, battery, leads and much more, It starts easily with a bit of choke and sounds lovely, Obviously the steering is lovely and light as Imps always where but this one is arguably better due to a new steering rack. The gearbox has been replaced in the past (Documented) and it had a recent new clutch.

The interior is very original and completely untouched, the seats are in good order and the original rubber floor mats are all present and in good condition, The headlining is a little grubby but all there and very original. The dashboard is again all original with a spare one included in the sale.

I have a small file of paperwork and the original Owner’s manual plus two workshop manuals and as previously mentioned a detailed handwritten account of maintenance spanning 40 years.

This little Imp Husky starts runs and drives lovely and is very usable, It gets comments wherever it goes and is now seriously rare, Most classic estate cars had the hardest life which is why few survived but its safe to say this one has been used although its important to mention it’s had a life.

Should you opt to purchase a classic car from me - classic meaning that it will be the equivalent of a motoring antique - then you are accepting that the vehicle will have had faults in the past and that, inevitably, there will be more to deal with in the future. Almost certainly and unless stated otherwise, the vehicle will have undergone some degree of restoration work and, again, it is more than likely it will need more at some stage during its life. I am a one-man enthusiast who enjoys unearthing these old girls and finding new homes for them. Viewing is highly recommended and then you can form your opinion of an aged vehicle just as I will have already formed mine. Modern-day life practically dictates that the majority of classic vehicles - and it is certainly the case with mine - are sold via internet advertising and with the added bonus of digital photographs. Extra and specific photographs will also be available on request. Should you choose to buy without viewing in person then please don't tell me a month later that the horn doesn't work, the full beam is faulty or that you have found some ancient repair of which I knew nothing. My terms therefore are that by buying from me you are accepting that, almost inevitably, classic vehicles will require further remedial work at some stage.
