So what else has Boris been up to.

Well ech year we attend the local car show in Stirling organised as a charity event by Stirling & District Classic Car Club sdccc.co.uk

It would be great to see as many classic car owners attend as possible, folks come to see the cars, car entry is free, donations optional, the more cars the bigger the attraction.

700 cars attended last year, there is space for more !

Here is Boris showing his stuff with Helens Speedster hiding behind the green imp

Next to Boris is a very special Imp recreated by Barry and Mark who re-traced the Lisbon Lions trip from Glasgow to Lisbon many moons ago.

He was the star of the show

    Full STORY HERE

Barry and Mark the inspiration behind the work. Again more money raised for charity by a great couple of fellas

On that page you might recognise another few imps

First time I seen "wee jinky" the Imp I just had to bag a picture.

And a few more of the motorcade for the start of the journey, all now on video end to end.

As well as in front of the camera Boris has been a regular up till last April at most Imp outings at which point I did not have the time and laterally not had the ability to drive him much.

He is booked in however for the monte carlo start end of January 2020 !

Boris needed some love, well 1/4 light seals and channels

So off they come, not the polythene rain deflector. These were fitted in the cars originally but these look refitted I guess after the waxoyl was blasted round the inside of the doors.

Bottom glass stop which limits where the glass stops when wound fully down.

See above, quarter light needs rotated to this position to remove as it has a limit pawl to stop it opening too wide

In the case of Boris I removed it with the rigid channel

Also took oppertunity to try some new door seals

                  Boris seals are getting tatty

Door close (not as good as Mr Daves but not many are !!! ) standard seals

And trying and I mean trying to close the door with the new shark fin seal

And just to show how much tension the seal is under hwen slammed closed

Time to order some narrow channel, Peter Nunney did the leg work on this one but this channel certainly works very very well,

I did not post the one where it was hitting near 70 in 3rd assuming the speedo read right

Car purrs very very nicely for a sport exhaust

Past few days i have been running Boris and doing a few extra bits.

Not finished the door yet, still need to fit the channels and scraper but will have a go at that tomorrow.

Mean time the electric fuel pump has been very reliable so it was time to add the wiring into the loom as it was all getting a little messy

not great and believe it or not that was on purpose ! as imps wiring was never neat to begin with.

And of course I added a slightly larger tacho as the last one crapped out on me the other day.

Fits and looks great but a bit erratic, I think modern electronics just that little bit more sensitive so need to add some kind of filter for the spikes

Well damaged the oil cooler fins when tiry up wiring and my reward was a busted oil cooler after all my sons hard work getting the fins straight.

                            So in with another cooler

And after the oil cooler change off for a bit of a blast up/down motorway

No proper temp gauges but motorway there and back at 70 (ish ) in this heat, gauge never budged, I can live with that
