  • Brilliant idea Bob sometimes you just need to be creative, I did DDG a similar way at back but never thought about the draw strings

    • Nylon bush for top of steering column and last bit of headlining glued in place ,couldn't wait to see what my lovely Desmo mirror looked like. Nice curved mirror that should cover blind spots quite well . Mirror is mounted slightly off centre but can move ball clamp sideways to centralise mirror if needed , looked for one on ebay last week ,£180 ,wow , little bit of damage on this one but definetly usable.

        • Momentum going , as a recent convert to the use of rivnuts and the fact that l was suplied with stainless screws (loads more than l actually wanted , where possible l am going to use them ,so headling used some ,just fitting door pockets (initial fit) used them ,so progrest , rivnuts can \should be brilliant but if something does go wrong ,an absolute pain to get out ! as l found out. Fairly happy with headlining but l could \should have made a better job , know how to do it next time! (there won't be a next time)
Bought some different style of door check straps today (watch this space)
And a nice plastic badge to go with my ring tone, l know it's Mini but it is nice, might go on drivers door pocket.

          • Bob

Rivenuts are the way, especially on the door pockets.

            • Yes John , used them on headlining panel, high level brake lights, dashboard, and will be on fitting door catch\ stays , pinched idea from Andy to use Mini ones , so good investment to buy a kit.

                  • So it was drag the seats out of the attic time today , cut the fixing mounts off the side or seat rails and the fit is still quite tight , can;t bolt anywhere near originals were fitted but have a plan of attack, also been working on hatch (trying to get better seal ) getting there by using something not designed to be used there ,but looks like it'll work , need to fit latch to be sure , l have three or four, all dismantled ,just got to reassemble one once l'm happy with barrel My she does look nice! .even with missing trims. Also sorting out door cards and rear cards . • Made a wooden template for aluminium seat frames to fit to , ordering material and getting those made as next major job , stripped quarter lights so as to mix & match for best parts , then interupted by garden work , near on 30 stones leaning on it something had to give. .
