Wonder what to do with space if you move the brake/clucth fluid resevoir ?

Wonder what to do with the hole left by the old brake / clutch resevoir space when you move it ?

Washer fluid is a prime candidate instead of the usual useless bag.




Dave Lane solution inspired me to look at doing same, I could not finf Peter Nunney version on his maroon chamois which was pretty cool as well.

So I first fitted a re-worked overflow tank but that was a bust. Simply an ugly fit and had a radiator cap. looked like a radiator !




Did not like it, pretty much like the reseviour bracket

So picked this up and reckoned it was there or there abouts

When it arrived there was a bonusm, the top is about 8mm thick so it was easy to drill/tap fixings into where I wanted.



And a little wrap as its in a cold spot

Needs a small trim of the inner lip of headlamp bowl, make the fit much better with the thermal jacket on.

Brilliant , electric pump? if so where did you place that? just looked at them on ebay (tank that is) have been wondering what tank to get.
Just been assembling new headlight bowls to refurbished mounting frames , so picture of Daves bowl mod will be useful in couple of days . THANKS

Bob, electric pump is on top of drivers side wheel tub behind heater duct.

Are you moving the resevoirs as well ?

Plenty spare washer motors here if you want one Bob, they seem to have bred on their own since I put them in the box. Or more liklely i ordered parts i already had

Petowner this is where the washer pump lives in this car anyway



but flow seemed to slow down and then the homer event happenned and my forhead was duly slapped.

No breather hole !

So time to get drill out again

I drilled it so its at the back Dave although starting to think I made a mistake with bottle size, either that or its gonna have serious pressure as that 800ml bottle gets pumped empty in no time.

Bob, 800ml is way more than the plsatic joojoo bag

When I tested the "empty" I was using 5mm tubing and no washer jet, just open end woth finger on the button into a bottle after the non-return valve.

So very little resistance, you can here the change in tone in the pump easy when it has to work for a living

I just literally tried it with a washer jet and it is really slow to empty now. So my fears were simply down to bad testing scenario


It is very small compared to moderns but then again so if a 6 gallon fuel tank !

Bore of the tubing, maybe its bigger than 5 and open ended. Might work better as a coolant pump in some imps
