  • Lubrication of throttle cable

What is the general accepted rule as far as throttle cable goes , fitting a new one ,l removed inner cable , oiled it and put it back , is this correct or do they run dry?

I always drop some 3in1 or instrument oil down them, that is after an extra outer skin of heat shrink sleeving first order of day is to fit a nice inner, Colimp66 Dave Lane

Shimano inner i think, low friction teflon to start with.

Col will have oodles of it, Dave already did this, just not appear at Daves Corner yet not sure he can actually remeber all of the mods he has done.

In Nods News on The Imp Club Forum I am sure there are some pics but I am sure Dave being an organised fella he will have some to hand !

High level stop light now defo added to the Singer to do list

Yes after l loaded this topic l saw Daves throttle cable mod & high level brake light postings.
High level brake light is always a must for me , first time l saw one l fitted one as soon as l could ,many many moons ago before they became standard fitment to new cars, same with rear fog lights and l always positioned them away from normal lights as per picture
