heat up a bit, JB weld, leave till next day, drill & tap, jobs a good 'un
So duly replaced in black, much more subtle
While I was at it I repaired one of the knackered oil filter flanges, the flat plate the end of teh element rests on had been rammed so far it was jamming the poppet valve open.
Flattened, cleaned and re-peened
The engine was expecting a sport manifold but as I do not have a spare oil cooler I need to go find a short stud now
