Hi all, please see the following announcement regarding Imp Ecosse 2021.
Gordon & Alex, can you please share around your members.
John Ross, I'd appreciate if you could share via the Hillmanimp.org site too.
IMP ECOSSE 2021 – POSTPONED
Following the January announcement in Impressions, I have taken the decision to postpone Imp Ecosse 2021 until April 2022.
I've taken advice from a contact in the Scottish Office and also spoken to Andy, the site manager at Mortonhall Caravan and Camping Park. The general feeling is that it would be borderline as to whether the event could go ahead anyway and unwise to proceed with a gathering of people from various parts of the country, with new Covid strains emerging and the vaccine role out still at a relatively early stage.
I'm sure that everyone is as disappointed as I am about having to postpone Imp Ecosse yet again but the safety of those attending and everyone involved in organising the event, including the staff at Mortonhall, has to be at the forefront of any decision
Hopefully we are looking at “third time lucky” with the proposed dates for the rescheduled event being Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th April 2022 at the same venue of Mortonhall. Easter is early in 2022 and this date should also avoid school holidays, a potentially busy time for the campsite.
Andy is happy for bookings to be rolled over for the 2022 event again and hopefully most people will be in a position to do this. If however you do need to cancel your booking outright, due to the exceptional circumstances that we find ourselves in just now, Andy has agreed that a 100% refund will be offered as opposed to the normal tiered refund scale that will be on your booking agreement,
Can everyone please contact Mortonhall via phone or email to let them know whether you wish to roll over or cancel your booking as soon as possible and also update me via email so that I can keep a current list on who is planning to attend in 2022.
I would appreciate if you could please share this announcement with anyone who may not have access to Social media platforms too so that he word gets around before the announcement in the March copy of Impressions
Regards, Jim Fraser
