This is the story of the Clan Crusader's historic victory on the 1972 Tour of Mull.
What Alan Conley and Crawford Dunn achieved in October 1972 is one of rallying's most under-told fairytales.
Three weeks after a world shattering 2nd place on the Manx International Rally in the hands of Andy Dawson, the Clan Crusader would be taking on the formidable lanes of the Tour of Mull.
In those days, the event was a part-stage, part-road rally through the day and night, and in 1972 Conley and Dunn would race fierce competition from both the Motoring News and Scottish Rally Championship crews.
This is a fan’s account - researched from period magazines and news articles - of one of motorsport’s most under-told fairytales.
This, is the Clan’s crusade.
