In case no-one knew the Singer Chamois MK 1 was launched in October 1964

    Interesting for me anyway

DDG was manufactured week ending 2nd October 1964 must have been in anticipation for the launch and delivered to Steel & Cripps Limited in Cheltenham according to Bobs Records

Cars history from factory to first registration March 1965 is a mystery, demo car perhaps. Sale date on receipt was 19th March 1965

    £480 - - Ex Works Price
    £110 11 3 Purchase Tax
    £ 3 3 - Number Plates
    £ 10 10 - Underseal (was well worth it !! )
    £ 15 - - Road Tax

Nice to see some things go down in price, free road tax now as I just taxed it today

How much was yours new ?

Anyone else get Bob to go find manufacturing dates and a Rootes Archive Trust Heritage Certificate ?

Wonder what happenned to them Dave, do you know ?

Thats a good 4- 5 months hanging around

Often thought it was the seatbelt and rules changes start of 65 as the seatbelts in DDG were retrofit, no floor mounts from factory. Just those bolt through things, hence the two only bits of rot in the floor pan, two small patches fixed that

No idea , i guess they get transported to the dealer which might take a a while to organise where they then sit and wait for a buyer , 3 months seems standard from what ive gathered , Vusky was less though at less than 2 months
