Quarterly Publication - is anyone actually interested ?

If there is enough articles of interest and / or threads I can arrange paper or online copies or just PDFs that can be downloaded.

Online magazines i dont think we have enough content, maybe in a few years and I would need to ask what is involved although I believe Lucid press is quite good Uncle Henry ???

Similarly if anyone else has any local publications or groups they are looking to find articles for please just ask and let us know where it will be used (by PM to Hido-San) and all we ask is you give credit to the original author and hillmanimp.org

For me at the moment the site is small enough to keep on top of - I make pdfs of anything I want to keep hold of for future reference myself.

As you say given time, as the site builds, there may be a need for downloadable pdfs and maybe even a club magazine.

      Cheers Martin,

      All comments greatefully received

I use this site like a scratchbook which was its intention, collect all car only stuff in one place.

Loads of stuff i have done over years like Dave which no-one ever really sees and although I use FB it is crap for archives !

2 users asked if I would be producing any monthly or quarterly paper

Monthly is a big no-no for me, easy enough to do but The Imp Club alredy has Impressions magazine monthly and although I never read mine (usually give it away in wrapper) folks like that, so no point to re-invent the wheel as that "demand" is already well serviced.

Anything from here has to be tech / workshop related as again Grahame Pearson & Co have the monthly Imp Fix sorted.

As you point out, its easy enough to PDF the articles as they evolve. Which is more or less the same as me.

However if it becomes a want for users I can take care of it, I just need to add some code so users can pick A,B,C and then I can generate one PDF.

Will just need to se, the idea is out there now for brain storming so we will see where it goes.

Any other comments Martin, colours, text, article grouping, mistakes (my spelling is terrible) just toss them my way, If users dont like it then it will not get used so all changes considered.

So far 70% of the format was my own choice, changes are really easy and Sunday is rollup day to see what i can fix/sort

You are doing a great job John, and you have brought some great members over from the "dark side", I love and use both sites - but building this one from the ground up and building the membership up at the same time opens up so much scope for improving things. Keep up the good work and if any of us can help in anyway - whether it be suggestions, time , money you know you only have to ask.

          Martin

I want this to be a true community site, I look at myself as only looking after it.

So what users want they can have and if anyone wants to get involved more for te benefit of everyone thats great.

I do frequent the imp Club Forums and used to enjoy it very much, the 1,700 posts i removed was a gut reaction to folks with no manners, however it is no fun any more, perhaps it will be again who knows. Will leave all the negative mojo there and stick to cars and fun here.

Dave, he wanted to collect all his stuff in one place so we have Dave corner. He posts once here and clicks share to FB so he does not need to repeat post everything. As well as sharing all his great stuff to the public rather than in secret it saves time for him.

Lots of potential. There is also no plans for moderators or secret areas, what you see is what you get, Imps just wanna have fun

Folks are probably unsure what to make of the site just now and hopefully folks will see a use / benefit to them

I already invited the Imp Club to join as an organisation, it is an open offer for them and any member individually. As folks can see Colin is a imp Club ACO and the fact is advertised in his logo, we posts the local area meets and give as much support as we can for the club within reason (i.e. they do not complain).

Anything you feel you want to help with Martin would be great. Folks love seeing cars and stories so really if you could manage some of that now and again to give a good read folks would be well gratful.
