Time to give the 356 some love so the imp has to go live outside for a bit.
The paint had blistered badly under the car cover (dont ever do that) and my nasty back stabbing neighbour decided my garage plans were equivelent to the work of the devil so that is scuppered.
Anyhow
bad news is paint is knackered
Good news is it is the surface coat and not the underlying gel coat which seems intact. It has had a bit to dry out inside so I blocked out deck lid and it was great to see it does this easilly enough with 180 grit so not agressive.
Completely smooth gelcoat underneath
Just like metal it will get a good coat of epoxy sealer as I have no idea what resin cure accelerator was used, gelcoat or any primers.
I am at least hopeful now it can be sorted without too much problems as the white spots seen under the top coat seem both shiny and not pitted, as if the top coat had been applied while damp.
