  • Is the forum well organised - Forum format suggestions

Please give an indication of your current level of satisfaction with the layout.

Everything can be changed within limits, things do work differently as forums are getting more facebook like to attract FB users back to forum use so we are limited how much we can emulate old style forums.

Saying that I want to "see this" can help so please any suggestions below.

From suggestions we may be able to provide the way to get what you want or make it easier for you

So feel free to make any suggestions

I myself would after using the forums a bit now

    1. Like a restructure so the categories being most used are grouped together in a small group

    2. Still keep Workshop seperate as that is a lookup section as well as a repository for any hints / tips / tricks

    3. Remove articles section in short term as there will not be time for big write ups and so far no volunteers for a weekly or monthly rollup article and my plate is full polishing of the workings

    4. Pull in the Admin areas into same group so you can see what bugs have been found and when they are likely to be fixed (already done).
That area you wont be able to post to, only read. Please report any bugs for investigation and if found I will add them to the list so they are not forgotten and as everyone can see them feel free to kick my backside for a progress report

    5. I was going to add more smilies, thats on hold as the next release 5..5.6 will have Emojii support instead (another FB influence) so no point

    6. Completely abandon Photo Album/Gallery and Blog.

    7. Ultimately we should be able to group all activity I reckon into one small area where the majority of users can chat.

    8. When online there is a built in "instant message" feature to date I have been the only one to use it, so if someone is online you can actually chat to them direct.

    9. Merge Whats Happening In FB/Club/Ebay etc. into one group instead of 3 or 4 as it will make exclusion from searches a bit easier.

Feel free to suggest anything you would like

Item 8 John , couldn't see how to message someone on line , is that why you've been only one to use it?

Cool, just added it Bob, will move it to help section in case anyone else asks before going with the button idea.

I asked the guys at vB best way to change the templates with upgrade ease in mind, I can actually change the lot to suit, what happens then is any updates assume a "standard" data so you have to save things out and do all the work again.

The big button feature makes sense so i can feed it into their own feature request system and it would become standard in a later upgrade if they see merit in it.

            So all good

You can change styles as you like now, I fixed that while we were on chat (multi tasking)
