Well I reckon I could have done an imp in same timeas spent on the van.
Todays fix list after the cluster went nuts
Sort wiring on lower engine and replace the temp wadding around the injector pump wiring and repair the insulation where it was chaffed
Then found something rattling around the radiator fan frame, the big resistors for fan control had broken off its spot welds and was lying around loose
A song "I want to break free" comes to mind but radiator fins not the best place for sharp metal terminals to be rattling around.
cant buy them new so botchery was then applied and it is now soldered back together and blobbed up. Cant buy these as a seperate part and 226 plus vat for a new radiator fan frame is 1/2 what the damn thing is worth and I only need this liottle bit so not happenning
Finally the lectrickery was applied using resistance box to check ECU and cluster, more wiring chased back and of course the Cylinder Head Temp Sensor was reading 900 ohms but it needs 3000+ to sit at cold, so new sensor collected and fitted
All done, starts on the button and runs great.
Roll on new windscreen and MOT next week and the old bus will be rolling once again.
The van is really just another Imp to us
